Incremental Two

The latest from our most recent figure drawing session. From putting on pants to throwing a punch, this session has definitely expanded our range of drawings in terms of following a live model, as well as increased the paper used for it by a lot. Overall, a good session. Too bad we only have one more...

Bouncing Ball

Bouncing Ball from Josh Grinlinton on Vimeo.

The Bouncing Ball animation for class. I tried a fading technique around the edges to help the ball move in and out of frame without chopping it in half or something. Overall I think it turned out nicely despite it feeling overall quick and short.

Ball Under Layer

Golf Swing Sequence

Golf Swing - Rough from Josh Grinlinton on Vimeo.

My golf swing animation that was taken from when we used the model our first time. It's definitely rough, and the bottom half isn't lined up very well, but the swing itself looks decent.

Pendulum

Pendulum from Josh Grinlinton on Vimeo.

The pendulum animation. I've got a pretty good feeling on this one due to how nicely the animation seems to flow. I feel the pendulum itself is rather plain, but the way it moves is nice enough to hopefully make up for that. Overall, this assignment seemed much easier than the last one; the previous one was just too tedious while this one was more enjoyable.

Incremental Figure Drawing.

My incremental figure study drawing. It was interesting, if not a bit messy, getting all of the poses on the same page. A good experience indeed.

I know it's not really much of a drawing, but something about it just seems really nice about it to me. I feel the simplicity of the drawing is easy to understand and it just has that quick and understandable look to it. The gesture doesn't need explaining.

Metamorphosis

Metemorphosis from Josh Grinlinton on Vimeo.

My video of metamorphosis animation. Overall it was an enjoyable experience; getting to make my first real animation was quite exciting. I enjoyed watching my artwork transform itself in the way it did. It definitely taught me to try and see more in objects, to see the potential in every object. I'm content with the way it turned out. However, I would've liked to have made it longer than I did. I felt that the overall length of the video was much shorter than I wanted it to be.
